can't add any products/search function doesn't return result

Hi!
i don't know in how far this problem has been discussed already, i found some threads in german forums, but without any useable solution.
So my problem is as following:
1) when i add a product manually, i enter the asin and get a result, fine so far... when i hit the add item-button it takes me back to the admin-page and that's it...
2) so i thought: try it via search-function... i searched for an articel, didn't get any result...
3) so i tried to browse the amazon, hit dvd's and got ... nothing...

could anyone tell me where i could search for errors ?

i have exactly the same error.
don't now what it is.
setup a test site with a clean install and it don't work (same error)
maybe its the php or the mysql version
my host give my the phpMyAdmin 2.6.0-pl2 and the MySQL 3.23.58 versions.
maybe someone has a solution for that.

i don't think that's the problem, i got php 5.1.1 /apache 2.2/phpmyAdmin 2.7.0 and mysql 5.0.18 and nuke7.9, should be okay ...
let me know if you find anything ... that's driving me mad! and there's no alternative!
